Endless streaks of minerality run through the 2010 Latricieres-Chambertin. Graphite, cassis and spices are woven together beautifully as this cool, introspective wine begins to open up in the glass. The Latricieres needs time in bottle to come together, but I don’t quite see the potential here of the best Grand Crus in the lineup. This is a subtle style best suited for readers who appreciate the more understated, at times even fleeting, side of Grand Cru Burgundy. The Latricieres is one of two 2010 Grand Crus made with 100% whole clusters. I can’t wait to see how this turns out in bottle. Anticipated maturity: 2025-2040.
